Seminars / Conferences Attended.

1.                                          Thiru Padmanabhan joined the Ph.D programme in Physics in the year 2005, under the guidance of Dr.S.Jayakumar.

2.                                          Padmanabhan and S. Jayakumar presented a paper on “Studies on Industrially Important Molecules” at the  National Conference on Materials from 8th to 9th Sept 2005 at Holy Cross College, Trichy. and at the  International conference on 5th and 6th Jan 2006 at Auxilium College, Vellore.  

 

Kumar and Dr. S. Jayakumar

1.                              Kumar joined Ph.D programme in the year 2005, under the guidance of Dr.S.Jayakumar.

2.                              Participated and presented a paper entitled “Study of Molecular     Interactions” in the UGC sponsored “National Conference on Material characteristics and Properties” (NACOMAT), held on 8th and 9th September 2005 at Fatima College, Madurai.

3.                              Communicated a research paper entitled “Study of Molecular     Interactions in binary liquid mixtures” to Indian Journal of Pure &  Applied Physics, in March 2006. 

 

The Physics Association

Association activities were inaugurated on 18th August 2005 by Dr. T. R. Govindarajan, Institute of Mathamatical Sciences, Chennai. Once in a week, Physics Study Circle was held, coordinated by Dr. V. Murugan and Dr. R. Sudarsan. Students’ Seminars were conducted. Dr. S. Arun, our alumnus, delivered a lecture on 11th January 06.

U.G. students participated and won many prizes in competitions conducted by other institutions. In Stella Maris College they won overall Championship.

 

Prof. K. Lakshminarayanan Endowment Lecture was delivered on 15th Feb 2006 by Dr. A. R. Ganesan, Professor, National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirapalli 

 

M.Sc. students, V. Suresh and S. Vikram, presented two papers at a State Level Conference on Spectrophysics on March 18th 2006.

 

M.Sc. students, P. Rajesh and S. Sureshbabu, presented two papers at a seminar conducted by Loyola College and SSN Engineering College, Chennai.
