NATIONAL
CADET CORPS
- The cadets of our unit performed well in the “B”
and “C” certificate examination securing 100% and 85% result respectively.
Independence Day, Republic Day and National Youth Day were celebrated with pomp and splendour. The Principal
took the salute and inspected the parade.
- Thirty five cadets attended CATC held at DRBCC
Hindu College.
- Cdt. P. Siva and Cdt. A.Sandeep participated in
Quiz competition and won the overall prize. Cdt. A. Sandeep won individual
prize in this event. Cdt. Mohinder R Ghantasala participated in flag area
event and took 1st position in the same event.
- Four Cadets attended the Army Attachment Camp,
held at Maratha Light Infantry, Bangalore, from 01-06-2005 to 15-06-2005.
- Sgt. T.Gopi won the 2nd place in the
cross-country race conducted during the camp.
- Cpl. P.Munusamy stood 3rd in the same
event.
- Cdt. Arun Kumar attended the IGC-TLC camp held
at Madurai. He won Gold Medal in overall obstacle race and Silver Medal in
map reading competition.
- IGC-RDC was held at Tiruchy, and the following
Cadets participated: Cdt. M.Purushothaman, Cdt. U.Harish, Cdt. A. M.
Anand, Cdt. T.R.Pranesh, and Cdt. N.Krishna.
- Cadet A. M. Anand attended the RDC-New Delhi. He
was the speaker in the NIA presentation of NCC Tamil Nadu Directorate, in
the prestigious camp.
- 5 of our cadets attended various NIC held at
different states.
- NCC Cadets served as volunteers in the Birth
Anniversary Celebration of Mother Sarada Devi, and in the Book Fair held at Chennai.
NCC
competition, VIVEKASENA, was held for the second successive time on 28th
and 29th of January for the training year 2005-2006. 15 colleges
participated in this year’s competition. There were totally 11 events for the
cadets to show their talents. This includes the Best Cadet Competition also.
Mr. Sylendra Babu IPS, Joint Commissioner (South), gave the Valedictory address and distributed
prizes for the winners. Col. Dash, Officiating Commanding Officer, 13 TN BN
NCC, gave the special address. The Viveka NCC Unit received a special memento
from the Secretary on the occasion of the College Diamond Jubilee Celebrations
for the excellent work done by the NCC Officer and the cadets. The Overall
Banner went to A.M. Jain College.
